Missions
Artificial neural networks capable of invariant recognition of sensory objects can encode sensory information in a way that is remarkably similar to the human or animal brain. Brice Bathellier's team is involved in a research program aimed at understanding this similarity and identifying the operations necessary for invariant recognition. Within this framework, the recruited researcher's mission will be to use an artificial neural network to identify the representational bases necessary for the invariant recognition of natural sounds and to propose experimental measures to test the extent to which these representational bases are present in the brain.
