Job Description
Missions
Neuron-astrocyte interactions are classically assessed through analysis of astrocyte calcium signals, overlooking transcription-factor based signaling, despite their emerging roles in health and disease. This innovative project aims at understanding how transcription-factor based cascades shape the cooperation between astrocytes and neurons to ultimately regulate behavioral output. This project will focus on social behaviors in mice, where the role of astrocytes is broadly under-investigated. Our ongoing work showed that manipulating astrocyte transcription factor-based signaling in the mouse hippocampus selectively promotes male-female interactions . This project aims at deciphering the impact on astrocyte-neuron crosstalk at the cellular level by using cell type-specific viral vectors, histology, microscopy, biochemical and molecular analyses.
