Missions
The main aim of the project is to investigate the principles underlying the incorporation and migration of newborn neurons into mature neuronal circuits in the optic tectum of zebrafish. To that end, the student will perform two-photon imaging and data analysis using matlab.
Activités
- Conduct calcium imaging experiments on newborn neurons and the rest of the neural circuitry of the optic roof in zebrafish larvae.
- Stimulate newborn neurons using optogenetics and monitor their incorporation.
- Perform genetic and mechanical ablations of the optic roof.
- Analyze and interpret the data and write scientific articles.
Compétences
- Skills and experience in developmental and computational neuroscience
- Skills and experience in imaging, microscopy, and nanoparticle labeling
- Skills and experience in molecular biology and genetics
