Missions
-As part of the Minotaure project, which addresses the reliability and durability of new photovoltaic cell technologies, the study of solar cell degradation mechanisms is a major challenge. In order to analyze and understand these mechanisms, and then circumvent or eliminate them, a group of partners with complementary expertise in different fields of characterization and modeling have joined forces to study aging mechanisms using operando, in situ and ex situ characterization approaches.
The aim of this 12-month post-doctoral contract is to identify and understand the chemical and electrochemical changes induced by the main aging stress factors - temperature, light, electrical polarization and various combinations of these factors - both in the absorber layers and at the interfaces of solar cells based on perovskites or Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2 chalcopyrite, the technologies chosen for low-cost tandem cells.
The effects of various in situ aging factors, and the combination of these factors, will be studied by coupling two complementary surface analysis techniques: ToF-SIMS and XPS, which will provide access to high-resolution depth profiles, 2D and 3D images, the distribution of elemental and molecular species, and the evolution of chemical and electronic properties. The XPS analyses will be carried out at the Institut Lavoisier in Versailles and the Institut des Matériaux de Nantes Jean Rouxel, while the ToF-SIMS analyses will be carried out at the Institut de Recherche de Chimie Paris.
Activités
The tasks of the post-doctoral fellow will be as follows:
- Aging of solar absorber layers with in situ monitoring of their properties by XPS and ToF-SIMS
- Chemical correlation of results obtained by XPS and ToF-SIMS
- Development of an in situ electrical bias process for ToF-SIMS measurements
Compétences
The candidate must hold a PhD in chemistry, physics or materials science, and must have the following skills:
- Knowledge of materials science, preferably semiconductor, and thin films
- Good experimental skills
- Solid experience in at least one of the characterization techniques: Tof-SIMS or XPS, both in terms of data acquisition and processing
- Vacuum experience required
- A track record of high-quality scientific publications is desirable.
Contexte de travail
The post-doc will join the “Electrochemistry and Physical Chemistry at Interfaces” (EPI) group at the Institut Lavoisier de Versailles (UMR 8180 CNRS-UVSQ Paris Saclay). The post-doc will have access to the ILV's spectroscopy center, which houses 3 X-ray photoemission spectrometers, a SEM and a nano-Auger. Experimental work in ToF-SIMS will take place at the Institut de Recherche de Chimie Paris (Paris 5 ème). Finally, assignments will be carried out at the Institut des Matériaux de Nantes- Jean Rouxel.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
This post-doctoral contract will be carried out within the framework of the “Technologies avancées des systèmes énergétiques” (TASE) Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR), funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR).
