Job Description
Missions
We are recruiting a PhD candidate to conduct research in probability and statistics. The PhD project will focus on the use of stochastic geometry tools to analyze the expressivity of ReLU neural networks through counting linear regions in the input space.
Activity
The recruited PhD candidate will carry out theoretical research and numerical simulations in order to further investigate the research topic. They will also present their work through oral presentations at scientific events.
Your Profil
Skills
Excellent academic level and a Master's degree (M2) or equivalent in theoretical probability
Excellent level in applied statistics and machine learning
Excellent proficiency in Python programming
Your Work Environment
The PhD student will have a dedicated office within the MAP5 research unit at Université Paris Cité. A laptop computer will be provided. The student will make frequent train trips to London to collaborate with another project supervisor. Travel and accommodation expenses will be fully covered.
Constraints and risks
This position does not involve any additional constraints or risks beyond those associated with missions in London or attendance at scientific events.
