Missions
This job offer aims at studying the properties of the integer and fractional quantum Hall effects in condensed matter systems using high frequency methods. The work will also consists in developing nanofabriation processes in-house at LPENS in the mesoscopic physics team.
Activities
The hired person will take part to the research activities of the team, in particular linked to the Quantera ElQuRes project that aims at the study of radiofrequency properties of quantum Hall droplets. In order to realize these measurements in a cryogenic environment and under high magnetic fields, the post-doc will fabricate samples in a clean room environment in order to develop a fabrication pipeline for the team aimed at sustaining the experimental measurement efforts.
Skills
In order to be considered for recruitement, the applicants will have to show that they have experience in quantum transport at cryogenic temperature, as well as an experience in nanofrabrication in cleanroom environment, working on two-dimensional electron gases. The applicant must also master fundamental concepts and techniques of quantum and mesoscopic physics.
Work Context
The post-doc work will take place within the Mesoscopic team at LPENS. The person in charge of the project will be Gerbold Ménard and the work will be financed by the Quantera ElQuRes project. This is a project in collaboration with the ENS Lyon, Latvia and Germany. The hired personnel will also collaborate with the rest of the team, especially Gwendal Fève and François Parmentier.
