Missions
The post-doctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Anna Creti, LEDa member and professor at Université Paris Dauphine, on the project “La transition à risque(s) du secteur immobilier en France”. The aim of this project is to assess the impact of public policies on thermal passoires (transition risk) and the growing exposure of real estate to climatic risks (physical risks, such as clay shrinkage and flooding).
Activités
The person recruited will contribute in particular to the following aspects:
- Analysis of the effects of new regulations (Climate & Resilience Act, pollution allowance market extended to buildings, European Bank prudential regulations) on real estate transactions,
- Use of open-access ADEME and Ministry of the Economy databases to assess transition risks,
- Use of spatialized data from public sources (BRGM, CatNat, NASA or other satellite data providers) to assess physical risks,
- Use of econometric and machine learning methods to estimate the impact of climate change on property claims,
- Publication of academic articles, with emphasis on open science publications, and presentation of results at international conferences.
Compétences
- PhD in economics, finance, applied econometrics or related field,
- Knowledge of environmental economics, real estate and climate finance,
- Mastery of econometric tools and data processing software (R, Python, Stata),
- Experience in analyzing massive databases and modeling,
- Ability to write and publish scientific articles,
- Excellent command of French and English (oral and written),
- Ability to work in a team and on multidisciplinary projects.
Contexte de travail
The project will be carried out within LEDa and the Climate Economics Chair. The person recruited will benefit from the expertise of a recognized team in environmental economics and climate policy evaluation.
This post-doctorate is part of the research contracts funded by CNRS Sciences humaines & sociales in line with its scientific policy, its focus on the planet's habitability issues and in specific support of research on the energy transition.
