Missions

This post doc position will be dedicated to the theoretical and numerical modeling of the dynamics of thin liquid films of binary mixtures. The successful candidate will develop and analyze models of the evolution, drainage, and pinching of these thin films.
This project integrates approaches from fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. The researcher recruited will contribute to developing analytical and numerical tools to study how surface tension fluctuations lead to film pinching.

Activités

- Develop and analyze thin film evolution models, including a surface tension evolution equation derived from Butler's equation.
- Implement numerical simulations of film dynamics using finite difference and finite volume techniques.
- Contribute to the dissemination of results through scientific publications and presentations.
- Contribuer à la diffusion des résultats par des publications et présentations scientifiques.

Compétences

- PhD in fluid mechanics or a closely related field.
- Strong background in theoretical modeling and numerical simulations.
- Knowledge of the open source software Basilisk (http://basilisk.fr) would be an asset.
