Job Description
Missions
As part of the ERC Synergy UniCIPS project, we are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to study transport properties, correlations, and fluctuations in classical systems of interacting particles. The successful candidate will build upon the methods recently developed at LPTMC to investigate minimal models of hard-core interacting particles on a lattice, with the aim of extending these approaches to more general models.
Activity
-Application of the macroscopic fluctuation theory formalism to general systems
- Study of cross-correlation functions between density and transport observables
- If necessary, performing numerical simulations
- Writing scientific papers related to the above activities
Your Profil
Skills
- Hold a PhD in theoretical physics or a related field
- Have excellent expertise in statistical physics
- Strong analytical calculation skills
- Scientific rigor
- Ability to work in a team
- Proficiency in English (written and oral comprehension and expression)
Your Work Environment
The research will be conducted at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique de la Matière Condensée (LPTMC), a Joint Research Unit of Sorbonne Université and CNRS (UMR 7600). Founded in 1970 by Savo Bratos and originally named "Laboratoire de Physique Théorique des Liquides" (LPTL), its research areas have gradually expanded to include complex fluids and various applications of statistical physics in both classical and quantum systems.
