Job Description

Missions

DNA methylation is a stable epigenetic mark, however in early mammalian development, global DNA methylation levels are dramatically remodeled. The candidate will explore the evolutionary conservation of this counterintuitive phenomenon using both in vivo and cell-based models of distantly related placental mammals.

Activity

Wetlab: Cell culture (generating mutations and transgenic cell lines; differentiation), molecular biology (DNA methylation, expression, histone modification)

Bioinformatics: Computational analysis of NGS-generated data sets: DNA methylation and chromatin profiling. Long read sequencing analysis (e.g., Oxford Nanopore).

Your Profil

Skills

We are looking for independent researchers with strong communication skills, are open minded, and generous with their colleagues. A strong wet and dry lab background is required. Familiarity with molecular genetics and mammalian cell culture would be helpful, but is not required.

Your Work Environment

The position is open in the team of Maxim Greenberg, which is supported by ANR (EpiSwitch) and UPCité Emergance (Imprintolution) grants to carry out studies of Chromatin Dynamics in Mammalian Development.
The research is carried out within the Institut Jacques Monod, which is a joint CNRS - Université Paris Cité research unit with approximately 350 employees. The IJM is part of the INSB and is housed in a recently constructed University building on the Paris Left Bank campus located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris and accessible by all means of transport (Metro 14, RER C, T3 tramway, bus 62 and 89...)
