Job Description

Missions

One-year (renewable) postdoctoral position at the Regulation of Cytoskeleton Dynamics Lab (http://www.actindynamics.net/) at the Institut Jacques Monod (Université Paris Cité, Paris, France – https://www.ijm.fr/recherche/romet-lemonne-jegou-lab-vf/) to join a project studying the regulation of branched actin networks. The project will combine in vitro microfluidics setups with cell biology approaches to systematically understand the regulation of actin branching by various biochemical and biophysical factors in cells.

Activity

The candidate shall:
-contribute to the design of the project,
-use and develop new methods,
-carry out experiments, including both in vitro and cell biology work,
-analyse the data quantitatively,
-communicate the results,
-write reports and research articles.

Your Profil

Skills

The candidate must hold a PhD, preferably in biology, with a strong interest in biophysics. The candidate should have a basic understanding of quantitative analysis. The candidate should be able to work independently within a collaborative team. The candidate should be able to communicate their work in English. Knowledge of French is not required.

Your Work Environment

The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM), located on the campus of Université Paris Cité, is one of the leading centers for fundamental research in biology in Paris. It offers a multidisciplinary research environment. IJM brings together around thirty research groups working in cell and developmental biology, biophysics, and genomics. The postdoctoral researcher will benefit from an extremely stimulating scientific environment and will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including photon and electron microscopy platforms, as well as flow cytometry facilities.
