Job Description
Missions
The multi-scale structuring of polymer materials is a major challenge for applications such as 3D printing. This project aims to use the Polymerisation Induced Microphase Separation (PIMS) approach to enable the controlled formation of nanostructures (50–500 nm) via phase separation induced during polymerisation.
The aim is to develop an integrated methodology for simultaneously controlling micrometric 3D architecture and internal nanometric organisation in order to obtain hierarchically structured materials with advanced properties. This project offers a unique opportunity to develop hierarchically structured polymer materials by combining innovative chemistry and advanced 3D printing technologies.
Activity
The candidate will be responsible for designing initiators for the PIMS process, in particular for the organic synthesis of precursors, and characterising the associated photopolymerisation properties. The candidate will also be required to work closely with partners in the ANR consortium and contribute to scientific promotion (publications, conferences).
- design of initiators
- organic synthesis of precursors
- characterisation of photopolymerisation properties
- interaction with consortium partners
- exploitation of results
Your Profil
Skills
• Good grounding in organic synthesis
• PhD in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry.
• Autonomy, scientific rigour and ability to work in a consortium
• Oral and written English skills (minimum level B2)
Your Work Environment
The project will be conducted at the Mulhouse Institute of Materials Science, in an environment renowned for its expertise in photochemistry and photopolymerisation, with access to advanced photopolymerisation and multi-scale characterisation platforms. The postdoctoral researcher (M/F) will work within a national consortium bringing together complementary skills.
IS2M is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Haute-Alsace (UHA) (UMR 7361) specialising in materials science. The institute brings together expertise in physics, chemistry, nanoscience and materials engineering. For more information about IS2M, please visit the website: https://www.is2m.uha.fr/.
IS2M is located on the Illberg campus in a dynamic area close to Germany and Switzerland and 20 minutes from Basel-Mulhouse Airport.
Employee benefits: partial reimbursement of urban transport season tickets and/or mobility package, university catering, contribution to supplementary health insurance, continuing professional development.
