The chosen candidate will develop biological and spectroscopic (electron paramagnetic resonance, UV-visible, CD, etc.) approaches to produce and purify proteins of interest, characterize copper binding sites, and study protein-protein interactions and electron transfers.
Keywords: Copper, Bacterial resistance, Metal stress, Bioinorganic chemistry, EPR

Activités

- Production and purification of proteins
- Characterization of Cu binding sites (number of sites, local structure, redox titration, ...)
- Spectroscopic studies (EPR, NMR, UV-vis, …)
- Protein-protein interactions
- Data analyses
- Report writing, oral presentations, publication writing

Compétences

Knowledge: knowledge of copper proteins, biophysical methods applied to proteins. Knowledge of biology. Proficiency in scientific English. Skills: experimental work on biological samples; recording spectra (UV-visible, fluorescence, EPR, etc.); data analysis. Interpersonal skills: ability to work/communicate in a multidisciplinary environment (physics, chemistry, biology), teamwork.

Contexte de travail

Integration into the team Biophysics of Metalloproteins and Dynamic Systems (https://bip.cnrs.fr/groups/bip07/, PI: Pierre Dorlet) within the Laboratory of Bioenergetics and Protein Engineering in Marseille on the CNRS Joseph Aiguier campus. Full time position in accordance with the internal regulations of the unit and the laboratories involved in the collaboration. Computer workstation equipped with the necessary software. Wet bench and laboratory equipment for protein production/purification and biological sample preparation. UV-visible spectrometers, CD, etc. EPR platform specialized in life sciences.

Contraintes et risques

Usual constraints associated with working in a biology laboratory. Possible travels for collaboration and attending conferences.
