Job Description

Missions

Select, develop and implement a standardised pipeline for the analysis of spatial transcriptomic data (10X Genomics Xenium) in a neurobiological research context (mouse brain slice). The candidate will lead three projects in parallel for three research teams at the IPMC. This project involves a methodological development dimension, aiming to implement innovative solutions for the study of RNAs at the subcellular level (neuronal projections), which are largely overlooked by current standard bioinformatic solutions.

Activity

Selection and adaptation of spatial transcriptomics data analysis protocols within the framework of scientific projects, implementation of analyses and quality controls
Writing/updating study reports, conducting regular project meetings
Writing scientific articles, figures, and methodologies
Participation in scientific and technological monitoring of the field
Implementation of a Python package for subcellular analysis applied to the themes studied in the teams' research projects.

Your Profil

Skills

Knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and genomics
Ability to understand the biology of the systems studied
Expert in Python development and statistics
Ability to work closely with fellow biologists
Strong oral and written communication skills (French/English)

Your Work Environment

Operational experience on Unix/Linux servers.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (Python, R).
Good knowledge of biology.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (French/English).
Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with researchers, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and engineers.
Proactive approach to general and daily organization.

This position is located at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology (IPMC) in Sophia Antipolis (Alpes-Maritimes). The IPMC comprises 21 research teams and shared services, with a total staff of over 250. The successful candidate will be based at the IPMC's bioinformatics hub, which includes 8 bioinformaticians specializing in spatial transcriptomics analysis. They will work closely with the three research teams involved and will be responsible for carrying out their spatial transcriptomics research projects.
