Missions
The recruited researcher will carry out their activity at the CNRS, at the IRBI, as part of the ANR FLYPATH project, which aims to study insect pathogens and epidemic risks in black soldier fly (BSF) farms. The specific objectives are to identify potential viral and bacterial pathogens and their contamination routes in BSF farms through metagenomic analyses and diagnostic tests. The results will provide insights into fundamental questions related to the dynamics and ecology of pathogens, depending on their specificity and mode of transmission.
Team Overview: The researcher will join the IMIP team: Interactions between Microorganisms, Insects, and Plants at IRBI, collaborate with academic and industrial partners of the FLYPATH project, and contribute to supervising students.
Activités
The researcher recruited for this position will be responsible for coordinating the collection of samples from industrial farms, preparing NGS sequencing libraries, and analyzing bioinformatics data. It is expected that this person will assist in supervising students working on the FLYPATH project, including in bioinformatics, and take an active role in producing scientific articles and disseminating results. They will also actively participate in the scientific and practical activities of the IMIP team.
