Missions

Research position for integration in the ERC project PHILIUMM. Edition and transcription of Leibniz's unpublished mathematical manuscripts.

Activities

Transcription and commentary of Leibniz's mathematical manuscripts. This research will be part of the ERC PHILIUMM project, which aims at renewing the understanding of Leibniz's philosophy in the light of his unpublished mathematical manuscripts.

Skills

The candidate will master the tools for editing Leibniz manuscripts, as made available by the Leibniz-Archiv in Hanover (TeX, philological competence for scholarly editing of manuscripts).
Fluency in Latin is required.
The working languages will be French and English.

Work Context

The researcher will work within the ERC project PHILIUMM, hosted by the Laboratoire SPHERE, UMR 7219. The candidate is expected to participate in activities related to the ERC project but also to those of SPHERE in history and philosophy of mathematics.
