Job Description
Missions
The research engineer will be responsible for designing and conducting biogeochemical analyses on mollusk shells, as well as evaluating and interpreting the results.
Activity
Take samples from reference material and archaeological material; send or deliver samples for analysis to the relevant laboratories; use and interpret the results of analyses; participate in promoting the results (publications, conferences, etc.).
Including supervisory and leadership activities:
o Functionally coordinate the project involving three people o Report on the progress of the project to a network of a dozen people
Specific activity or activity of collective interest:
o Lead training activities: in malacology, sample collection, treatment of archaeological material, management of reference collections
Your Profil
Skills
Knowledge: malacology, marine ecology, pre-Hispanic archaeology, stable isotopes, elementary chemistry, Spanish, English
Skills: knowledge of sampling methods (micromill), statistical data processing tools, teamwork
Interpersonal skills: good interpersonal skills, critical thinking, autonomy
Your Work Environment
The laboratory has a staff of around sixty people. Its research focuses on bioarcheology, i.e. the study of organic and biomineral remains resulting from past human activities.
