Missions

This position is part of the ANR JCJC EVOGRAM project: The effect of linguistic and non-linguistic factors on the evolution of nominal classification systems. One aim of the project is to analyze the interaction between gender in society and gender in language (e.g., masculine/feminine). The project uses quantitative methods applied to corpus and database analyses. The results are then communicated to the general public through various channels.

Accordingly, the successful candidate's main tasks will be to: take part in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of linguistic data already collected within the project; contribute to developing computational tools for processing the collected data; propose and design outreach tools or methods (e.g., workshops, videos, games, comics) for different types of audiences in order to communicate the project's findings. The hired person may also propose new research sub-topics.
