Job Description
Missions
The CMS group at IPHC is a founding member of CMS and had a key role in the development, installation and commissioning of the CMS tracker. The group today holds responsibilities in the upgrade of the tracker in view of the High-Luminosity LHC, and identification of tau leptons. The group searches for Heavy Stable Charged Particles (HSCP), for displaced top quarks, as predicted by new physics scenarios, and is involved in the search for CP violation in the tau Yukawa coupling since Run 2.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the newly established researcher Armin Ilg and contribute to the search for Higgs pairs produced in conjunction with pairs of top quarks (ttHH).
Activity
• Significantly contribute to the search for Higgs pairs produced in conjunction with pairs of top quarks (ttHH) in the decay channel to four b quarks and one or two leptons.
• Perform CMS service work.
• Supervise students.
• Contribute to outreach activities.
• Contribute to the FCC-ee R&D at IPHC (next-generation silicon sensors MAPS R&D, FCC-ee physics case study, vertex detector simulation) if desired by the candidate.
Your Profil

The IPHC is structured into 4 departments and has a total staff of 393 staff including 257 permanent staff (ie 119 researchers and teachers / researchers and 138 engineers and technicians), 46 staff on fixed-term contracts and 102 doctoral students.
The post-doctoral researcher will be welcomed into the CMS team which includes 5 researchers, 3 engineers, 1 postdoctoral collaborator and 3 doctoral students. The recruited person will be placed under the responsibility of Armin Ilg.
The candidate (M/F/X) will have access to a staff restaurant, partial reimbursement of transportation costs, a works council, the possibility of teleworking one to two days per week for some activities, subject to the agreement of the CMS team manager, and training to adapt to the job.
