Missions

The postdoc will be busy completing two projects. The first project aims to confirm the feasibility of using a laboratory-built integrating sphere to measure photosynthetic parameters of algae in a dilute medium. The second project involves finalizing a mass balance study of phosphorus and cations stored, among other compartments, in the acidocalcisomes of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii during sulfur deficiency.

Activities

The postdoc will mainly analyze data already collected, write articles and carry out some experiments in polyphosphate measurements and sample preparation for ICP-AES analyses.

Skills

The recruited person must have experience in the extraction of polyphosphates and in the analysis of photosynthetic parameters obtained by fluorescence and difference absorption spectroscopy measurements. Experience in writing one or more articles is also expected.

Work Context

The recruited person will work in the premises of UMR7141, at the Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology located in the center of Paris, which represents an optimal scientific and human environment for the project. He or she will also interact with researchers from the Institute of Mineralogy, Materials Physics and Cosmochemistry as part of an existing collaboration.
