Missions
Empirical and ethnographic research on the Exit to Community (E2C) process in blockchain communities. The main objective of this research is (1) to better understand the E2C phenomenon in the context of existing academic discourses, (2) to add practical insights enhancing the usability of E2C approaches for organizations in the digital platform economy, and (3) to highlight potential pitfalls and negative consequences that may arise if E2C becomes more widely adopted.
Activités
(1) Analyze E2C as a process similar to cooperative conversions but with distinct outcomes, such as platform cooperatives or decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) on the blockchain.
(2) Analyze why organizations participate in the E2C process through a narrative ethnography of organizations in the blockchain industry.
(3) Conduct ethnographic case studies, identifying governance by and of technology as key challenges during E2C.
(4) Analyze post-E2C challenges through a case study of DAOs in crisis and evaluate working conditions in DAOs, contrasting them with the outcomes of cooperative conversions.
