Missions

As part of the ANR project StratAgem, the postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the work of the DEPHY team, focusing on the study of the effects of emotions on arithmetic problem-solving performance across the lifespan. The main objective is to better understand how emotions influence cognitive processes in individuals of different ages.
The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in all stages of the ongoing projects, from the design of experimental protocols to scientific dissemination, including coordination of data collection and statistical analyses. He/she will also play an active role in the day-to-day functioning of the team (student supervision, scientific animation, writing).

Activités

Under the supervision of Pr. Lemaire, the postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:
• Designing, planning, and overseeing experimental protocols in cognitive and developmental psychology.
• Coordinating data collection: recruitment of participants (children, adults), test administration, and database management.
• Performing statistical analyses (mixed models, Bayesian analyses, longitudinal models).
• Writing and submitting high-quality scientific publications; presenting results at national and international conferences.
• Contributing to the supervision of Master's students and Ph.D. candidates.

Compétences

Required Skills
• Ph.D. in developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, or behavioral neuroscience.
Knowledge
• Background in numerical cognition and emotional processing.
• Strong knowledge of advanced statistics: inferential analyses, hierarchical/mixed models, Bayesian approaches.
• Excellent command of scientific English (reading, writing, speaking).
Technical Skills
• Experience with experimental programming (Lab.js, PsychoPy, Open Sesame, etc.).
• Proficiency in statistical software (R, JASP, Jamovi, Python).
• Ability to manage field experiments (e.g., in schools, institutions).
• Experience in team supervision (mentoring interns, coordinating research assistants).
• Strong writing skills for scientific articles, protocols, and project reports.
Interpersonal Skills
• Autonomy, scientific rigor, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Good interpersonal communication with diverse populations (children, families, educators, or healthcare staff).
• Flexibility and responsiveness in field-based research contexts.

Contexte de travail

The position is funded by the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), a globally recognized multidisciplinary research organization. The recruited researcher will be affiliated with the joint research unit “Centre de Recherche en Psychologie et Neurosciences – CRPN” (UMR 7077, CNRS/AMU – https://crpn.univ-amu.fr/en).
Employment Details
• 38h30 per week
• Laboratory hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Minimum 30-minute lunch break
• 46 days of paid annual leave
• 100% reimbursement of business travel expenses (kilometric allowance if using a personal vehicle, meals, transport).
• 75% reimbursement of monthly public transportation passes

• The role involves working with potentially vulnerable populations (young children, older adults), which requires ethical rigor and interpersonal sensitivity.
