Missions
Research in the frame of the ERC project CaptuRel:
1) Synthesis of new molecules and nanomaterials.
2) Spectroscopic and microscopic studies in model systems.
3) Cellular studies using fluorescence microscopy.
Activités
Main activities:
1) Within the project, new photoactive molecules and nanomaterials will be synthesized
2) They will be further tested in model and cellular systems.
3) They will be applied for capture and photo-release of biologically active species for sensing and control of activity of live cells.
The post-doc fellow will benefit from direct access to state of the art facilities for doing chemistry, imaging and cellular experiments.
Secondary tasks:
- Supervision of PhD and Master students
- Collaboration and discussion of research results with the team members as well as with the partner teams
- Communication of research results (seminars, publications, databases, larger public)
Compétences
We expect the candidates to have a strong background in organic (synthetic) chemistry, chemical biology and to be highly motivated to work on an interdisciplinary project at the frontiers of chemistry, nanoscience, photonics and cell biology. Experience with fluorescence techniques will be an advantage.
- Ability to design, execute, and successfully complete research projects
- Ability to design experiments and evaluate results independently and creatively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; English level B2-C2
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team
- Ability to supervise students scientifically
- Ability to present research results at scientific meetings and conferences
Contexte de travail
This CNRS postdoctoral research position is located within the Laboratory of Bioimaging and Pathologies (UMR 7021) of the University of Strasbourg and the CNRS, at the Faculty of Pharmacy in ILLKIRCH-GRAFFENSTADEN (France), in the Team « MPB – Photoactive Materials and Bioimaging » led by Andrey Klymchenko.
The position is supported by European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant entitled “Capture-and-Release Organic Nanomaterials for Optical Sensing and Control of Cells” directed by Dr. Andrey Klymchenko.
The LBP is easily accessible by public transport.
