Contexte de travail

The Social and Cognitive Psychology Laboratory (LAPSCO–UMR UCA-CNRS 6024; www.lapsco.fr) is located on the Carnot campus of the University of Clermont Auvergne, right in the heart of Clermont-Ferrand. This joint research unit (UMR) currently brings together 43 permanent researchers and a total of 102 members, including contract staff, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.

LAPSCO conducts research on behaviors and cognitive processes involved in major mental functions (perception, attention, memory, language, and temporality). Its work explores the brain bases of these functions, as well as their social and cultural determinants, with applications in key areas such as education, health, and industry.

At the intersection of experimental psychology (social, cognitive, and developmental) and integrative neuroscience, the laboratory is organized around four main research teams:

• Team 1: Cognition, Behavior, and Context
• Team 2: Social Behavior and Collective Dynamics
• Team 3: Physiological and Psychosocial Stress, Well-being
• Team 4: Social and Cognitive Ethology

LAPSCO also develops several cross-cutting research initiatives, the most recent being “humanoid social robotics and cognition,” reflecting its integrated approach to cognition and human behavior.

Within LAPSCO, you will be assigned to Team 1 and will work under the supervision of Jean-Claude Croizet (Full Professor), in close collaboration with Cédric Bouquet (Full Professor), Clément Belletier (Associate Professor), Alice Normand (Full Professor), Pascal Huguet (CNRS Senior Researcher and Director of LAPSCO), and Pierre Chausse (Research Engineer). You will also interact with the broader research team involved in the project, including Frédérique Autin (Full Professor, University of Poitiers) and Mathias Millet (Full Professor of Sociology, University of Poitiers). You will have full access to the laboratory's infrastructure.

To ensure optimal conditions for studying cognition and human behavior in the context of digital transformation, project-related experiments will take place in schools within the Clermont academic district, and occasionally on the e3C platform (Behavior-Brain-Cognition in the era of digital transition) at LAPSCO. This 500 m² facility is unique in France for its organic connection to the Clermont-Ferrand rectorate and its advanced scientific equipment.

The application file must include the following documents, combined into a single PDF file and arranged in the specified order:

A CV
A copy of the PhD diploma or a document certifying the award of the doctoral degree
A cover letter detailing research interests and previous research experience (maximum one page)
An electronic version of the doctoral thesis
