Missions

The PEPR ORIGINES/XAOWFS project offers a postdoctoral position in optical instrumentation funded by the PEPR Origines program (https://pepr-origins.fr/) on the optimization of the Mach-Zehnder wavefront analyzer. Project overview: The XAO-WFS project proposes to develop a new generation of wavefront analyzer dedicated to very high contrast imaging of exoplanets, in particular to significantly improve the observational capabilities of future giant telescopes. The project sets several ambitious objectives for instrumental improvements. Our objective is to provide a prototype of a fast and extremely precise wavefront analyzer optimized for the detection of terrestrial planets with the future exoplanet hunter instrument of the European Giant Telescope (PCS). These studies propose preliminary experiments at the scale of the Very Large Telescope located in Chile.
