Missions
Within the field of neuromorphic artificial intelligence, energy-based models (EBMs) are attracting growing interest due to their ability to capture relationships between variables by minimizing a single scalar function (the energy function) without requiring normalization over the entire dataset. This postdoctoral position builds on work carried out within the laboratory, on a software framework [2] as well as contributions on algorithms and hardware architecture [3][4][5], with the aim of implementing a hardware prototype that will constitute the primary mission of the recruited postdoctoral researcher.

Activities
The activities related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Study, design, and simulation of analog and digital EBM circuits
• Dissemination through publications and presentations at workshops, conferences, and journals
• Participation in the cross-cutting activities of the Emergences project
• Management tasks related to the project, as assigned by the project leader
• Supervision of students
Skills
Candidates must have expertise in at least two of the following areas:
• Machine learning and its associated mathematical foundations
• Embedded systems
• Analog / mixed-signal design
Work Context
These investigations will be carried out as part of the “Emergences” project [1] within the national PEPR IA framework programme of France 2030. These investigations will be conducted in collaboration with other partners, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.
