Missions

As part of “ressourcement” areas project (areas that enhance the wellbeing of users), Bordeaux Métropole is now commissioning a sound study of the Domaine de la Burthe in Floirac. The recruited person will have to experiment in the field with a tool for qualifying sound environments and carry out their mapping under the scientific and operational direction of Philippe Woloszyn, research manager at the PASSAGES laboratory.

Activités

Main tasks :
- Carry out observations and produce holophonic recordings in the Domaine de la Burthe in Floirac.
- Process and qualitatively analyze sound recordings using a specific ambient analysis tool (SACSSO)
-Implement a multi-source qualitative landscape sound map of the routes

Secondary tasks:
- Produce capture and analysis reports
- Produce maps
- Write a final report

Compétences

Expected knowledge:
- Very good environmental listening skills
- Expertise in qualitative analysis of the soundscape
- In-depth knowledge of sound data manipulation
- Ability to perform landscape analysis: descriptive surveys, field modeling

Expertise :
- Know how to use holophonic recording equipment
- Know how to analyze data and manipulate it
- Know how to use a geographic information system (GIS) to produce maps
- Have good scientific writing skills (writing reports)
- Be able to carry out spatial and statistical analysis of data

Contexte de travail

The recruited person will work within the PASSAGES Mixed Research Unit located on the Pessac University Campus. It will have a dedicated office on one of the laboratory sites, in the premises of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et du Paysage in Talence.
