Missions

This position is part of the ANR-funded COBRA project, which aims to study the impact of early stress on emotional behavior, olfactory perception and brain function. The first objective will be to examine whether the olfactory anhedonia observed in animals subjected to early stress results from altered olfactory bulb function. To this end, we will use two-photon calcium imaging to analyze the activity of relay neurons in the olfactory bulb. The olfactory bulb projects onto the olfactory tubercle, and we will study the impact of early stress on the morphology of its neurons in relation to its activity.

Activités

The post-doc will be in charge of setting up and carrying out behavioral experiments, cellular analysis and bi-photonic imaging in mice. The equipment is already available in the team or in the center (bi-photon platform). The candidate is expected to be autonomous in setting up experiments. The candidate is also expected to publish his/her work in the form of scientific papers.

Compétences

A PhD in neuroscience is required, and the skills needed for this position are :
- experience in animal experimentation with appropriate authorizations (Level 1 animal experimentation and diploma in small animal surgery)
- experience in two-photon calcium imaging
- experience in cell analysis
- expertise in statistical analysis tools
- good writing skills
- good level of English
- good organizational skills
- willingness to work as part of a team

Contexte de travail

The candidate will work in the Neuropop team at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center CRNL (Vinatier site in Bron, Bâtiment Neurocampus). The CRNL is a joint CNRS - INSERM - Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 research unit. The team's research, conducted on both human and animal models, focuses on the plasticity of the olfactory system. The team is housed in a modern building (inaugurated in 2019), which houses an animal facility with several rooms specially equipped for olfactory studies.

Contraintes et risques
