Missions
A postdoctoral researcher position is available at the Marc Jeannerod Institute of Cognitive Sciences CNRS. This postdoctoral fellowship is funded by an ANR grant and will focus on the cognitive and neural mechanisms of social pain. The position is for a period of 10 months. Attached to Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University (Department of Biosciences), the Marc Jeannerod Institute of Cognitive Sciences has resources dedicated to the study of human behavior in healthy and clinical populations, as well as significant resources available within the local research community. Responsibilities: management of several ongoing research projects (finalization of data collection and analysis, preparation of manuscripts). The project involves the study of cognitive and neural modulations of social pain.
Activities
Management of research projects on social pain. Participation in team leadership. Written reports and oral presentations for project progress/monitoring. Participation in national and/or international scientific conferences.
Skills
Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience, psychology, or related fields. Experience in programming and data analysis (e.g., PsychoPy, R). Ability to supervise and train undergraduate and master's students in the laboratory. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and, equally important, as part of a team.
Work Context
The Marc Jeannerod Institute of Cognitive Sciences (ISC-MJ) - UMR 5229 is based in Lyon. This institute is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Lyon that studies the brain mechanisms of cognition and its dysfunctions. Its research teams address a wide range of topics, including perception, motor plasticity, attentional processes, decision-making, motivation, and social cognition. The multidisciplinary expertise brought together in the laboratory includes physiology and psychology, as well as mathematics, economics, and medical disciplines such as neurology and psychiatry.
