Missions

The post-doctorate is part of the "Recyclability, Recycling and Reincorporation of recycled materials" PEPR (Priority Research Programs and Equipments), funded by the ANR (France 2030), and more specifically of the "SO RRYL - A reuse and recycling society?" project. The SO RRYL project aims to investigate the place of waste in our societies, and in particular the processes of recycling and reuse, from a multi-disciplinary social sciences perspective.
The person recruited will conduct an empirical analysis of the impact of circular economy public policies on the evolution of the business models of firms operating in the plastic packaging industry. He or she will contribute to understanding the effects of various public policy measures (regulatory obligations, incentives, public procurement, etc.) on the development of business models that promote the reduction, reuse and/or recycling of plastic packaging.

- Helping to organise meetings to monitor the progress of the project and possibly a workshop or conference

Skills

- The candidate must hold a PhD Degree. Preferred PhD degrees are in economics or management, but other disciplines are also possible.
- Research experience in the study of industrial and/or materials value chains, including in their regulatory dimensions, would be highly appreciated, particularly from a circular economy perspective.
- The candidate is expected to be familiar with techniques for collecting and analyzing qualitative data (from interviews in particular) and (possibly or) quantitative data (statistical/econometric tools).
- The person recruited should have a good level of French and English, both written and spoken, and be able to work as part of a team.
- He or she should have an interest in interdisciplinary issues and environmental questions.

Work Context

The person recruited will work at the Triangle laboratory (UMR 5206, Lyon - Political Economies Unit), in close interaction with the GREDEG laboratory (UMR 7321, Sophia Antipolis). These two research laboratories share the scientific responsibility for the post-doctoral project.
The post-doctoral fellow will also be required to interact with members of other labs participating in the SO RRYL project, and more generally in the "Recyclability, Recycling and Reincorporation of recycled materials" PEPR, whose work falls within a variety of disciplines.
He or she will have funding to conduct on-site interviews and present papers at national and international conferences.
