Missions

The recruited person will assist the PI in coordinating the team's projects (ERC SymbiOCEAN, BiOCEAN5D, AtlaSymbio), will be responsible for the organizational, administrative, financial and legal management of the projects as well as communication in its various forms. You will work in conjunction with the administrative services of the laboratory, the CNRS and the Université Grenoble Alpes. As a communications officer, you will also be involved in the development and coordination of various scientific dissemination and communication activities of the team, such as Planktoquest, a virtual reality application.

Activities

Organizational:
The project manager will help:
1) organize fieldwork and meetings/workshops;
2) implement project communication and dissemination strategies (e.g., the team website);
3) Develop and coordinate dissemination activities for the general public (e.g., PlanktoQuest).

Administrative management:
The project manager will actively participate in writing activity reports and the project data management plan, and will monitor contractual deadlines (deliverables, reports, timesheets, etc.).

Financial management: You will work closely with the laboratory's administrative and financial departments, coordinate the preparation, consolidation, and submission of financial reports, in collaboration with the PI and administrative departments.

Skills

- Master's degree
- Experience in the management of European/international projects and public system
- Experience in science communication/outreach activities for the public would be greatly appreciated (videos, creation of WordPress website, virtual reality).
- Skills in communication/project managements tools, such as Microsoft Office, google tools (web, form etc.)
- Communication skills in French and English. Fluency in English is essential (written and oral).

Interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work in a team and maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment, cooperate in one or more working groups, projects or international networks, and make effective contributions.
- Autonomy, sense of initiative and responsibility, reactive and flexible attitude, ability to handle different situations and resolve difficulties.

Work Context

We are recruiting a Project Manager for a 1-year (renewable) position in the Photosymbiosis team of the Laboratoire de Physiologie Cellulaire et Végétale (Grenoble, France), to support the implementation and monitoring of different research projects of the Photosymbiosis team, such as the European SymbiOCEAN project funded under the Horizon Europe - ERC consolidator program, and the AtlaSymbio project funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, involving international partners. The recruited person will be part of the Photosymbiosis team (photosymbiosis.com) of the LPCV -Laboratoire de Physiologie Cellulaire et Végétale- (UMR 5168 - CNRS -CEA - Univ. Grenoble Alpes - INRA) within the IRIG institute of the CEA in Grenoble. The Photosymbiosis team's projects aim to better understand the functioning of symbiotic interactions between unicellular organisms in plankton by combining molecular and subcellular microscopy approaches. The candidate will be part of the team's international and national collaborative network. Locally, the team's projects are in close collaboration with the IRIG institute: INAC Platform (IRIG) and the Institute of Structural Biology (IBS, Grenoble).
