Missions
The project manager will be in charge with the scientific managers of the project of its coordination and the implementation of the program. He/she will be rate part to the coordination of the consortium and facilitate its general operation in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement and the consortium agreement. His/her functions will thus cover a set of tasks related to organisational (from monitoring the access activity to opening up research data), administrative, financial and legal management of the project, as well as of the implementation of various network activities (assistance in organising meetings), training and communication actions. Under the supervision of the lab administrator, he/she will also
take part to the general operational management of the user access activities of the CRMN (including its activities as a national access provider).
Activités
1. Project coordination
Assist the scientific coordinators in the implementation of the project, its supervision and the monitoring of the work plan;
Prepare and organise the consortium and executive committee meetings; prepare the minutes; facilitate exchanges with the Scientific Advisory Board, the User Selection Panel and the Stakeholders Committee;
Animate the Consortium and facilitate exchanges between partners
Act, in collaboration with the relevant services of the Regional Delegation of the CNRS, as an intermediary between the European Commission's Research Executive Agency and the consortium.
2. Communication
Conduct internal communication actions (development of the graphic charter, dissemination of information, animation of the collaborative platform, etc.);
Participate in external communication actions (drafting press releases, brochures, newsletters, contents of the public part of the website, job announcements, etc); participate in the elaboration of educational videos; update of the website, communication on social networks;
Raise partners awareness about the dissemination of the results from the project, the respect of gender balance and the science / society link;
Actively participate in the development of the communication, exploitation and dissemination plan of the results.
3. Administrative management
Support the partners on all the administrative aspects, notably with respect to the application of the rules and procedures specific to Horizon 2020;
Follow-up the production of deliverables and contribute to the drafting of activity reports;
Monitor the access activity (user flow, centralisation of their requests, link with the company managing the access portal, monitoring the key performance indicators in order to acquire a global vision);
4. Financial management
Monitor the budget (breakdown and transfer of funds, update and follow-up of the expenses, internal financial summary reports, etc.);
Coordinate the preparation, consolidation and submission of financial reports in close collaboration with the CNRS Regional Delegation, within the deadlines specified by the European Commission;
Ensure that any justification document is correctly established and archived by each partner, in anticipation of potential audits.
5. Legal support
Ensure that the consortium meets the obligations described in the grant agreement and the consortium agreement;
Monitor and update (amendments) the contractual documents.
6. User Access
Organise all the practical aspects related to the user access (on a national and European level), from accommodation to travel arrangements; reimbursement of users expenses, in coordination with administrative staff of the host research unit.
7. Other specific activities
Assist the scientific managers in the organisation of all networking activities: organisation of workshops with the European chemistry community and with industrials, exchange of technical staff and students between partners, organisation of theoretical and practical workshops in NMR;
Assist the scientific managers in the development of the Data Management Plan, and ensure its application by the partners.
Compétences
Formalised knowledge
Master's degree or equivalent, including training in European project management;
Good knowledge of EC management rules within the framework of Horizon 2020 research programs;
Knowledge of the operation rules of a public research organisation;
Good working knowledge of financial and administrative management;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (the communication language within
the consortium) and good oral and written communication skills in French (needed for most of
the administrative tasks within the project).
Good knowledge and command of project management tools (spreadsheets, planning tools).
Personal qualities required
Disciplined mind, strong organisational skills;
Dynamism, reactivity and autonomy;
Ability to work in a team within an international and multicultural environment;
Experience in leading European and/or international projects would be highly appreciated;
Experience in communication and in organisation of events as well as in website management.
Writing and synthesis abilities are essential.
Contexte de travail
The High-field NMR Center of Lyon (CNRS / ENS Lyon / UCB Lyon - UMR 5082) is recruiting a full-time European Project Manager (EPM) to ensure the monitoring of a European infrastructure project, PANACEA, funded by the INFRAIA-02-2020 Starting Communities program (Horizon 2020), which started from September 1st, 2021 for a duration of 4 years. The project manager will join the coordination team through the mid-term project.
Located on the site of the Cité Lyonnaise de l'Environnement et de l'Analyse, (scientific campus of la Doua), the CRMN is a European large-scale facility that brings together more than 40 scientists and technical staff of various expertise in chemistry, physics and biology.The Center hosts a worldwide unique high-field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) platform, open to the national and international scientific community.
The PANACEA project - A Pan-European Solid-State NMR Infrastructure for Chemistry-Enabling Access (www.panacea-nmr.eu) - coordinated by the CRMN under the umbrella of the CNRS, aims at providing access to NMR instruments and top-class experiments to European chemists, from both academia and industry. The project is based on a consortium of 12 partners, public and private, established in various European countries as well as in the United States. Networking activities will be developed to harmonise the access procedures, facilitate the use of NMR to non-expert users and expand the fields of application of this spectroscopy in chemistry.

Contract duration: 2 years and 2 months fixed-term contract.
Location: CRMN, 5 rue de la Doua, 69100 Villeurbanne
This position requires frequent travels within Europe and beyond.
Salary: according to experience and CNRS grids (level Ingénieurs d'Etudes)
