Missions

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work with us on the ERC project entitled “RENOME”, which aims to understand the formation of chromatin compartments.

Activités

This project aims to investigate how disordered chromatin proteins can form condensates when they are mixed with chromatin fibers. The successful candidate will purify the disordered proteins (such as heterochromatin 1 and bromodomain proteins) and reconstitute nucleosomes. The resulting condensates will be studied by cryo-electron tomography and single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.

Compétences

- hold a PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology
- have acquired postdoctoral experience in chromatin biophysics and biomolecular condensates
- have practical experience in single-molecule fluorescence microscopy
- have practical experience in cryogenic electron tomography
- have knowledge of data processing using R, Python, or equivalent programming languages
- be highly motivated to develop tools for quantitative microscopy and interdisciplinary research
- be able to work independently and in an organized manner and enjoy teamwork
- be proficient in English (the working language of the team is English)

Contexte de travail

The "Mechanism of chromatin patterning" team is an international and interdisciplinary team belonging to the MCD unit of the CBI which benefits from all the technical means, equipment and technical facilities necessary for the realization of the project.
