Missions
As part of the SHAPINCELLFATE project (ERC-SynergyGrant), Dr Matthieu Piel's laboratory is recruiting a full-time junior researcher to contribute to research aimed at understanding how changes in cell shape affect the behaviour and function of immune and cancer cells. This is part of the laboratory's overall project to study cell proliferation and migration when space is limited, in particular how physical constraints affect the cell cortex, nuclear envelope, cell growth and cell division.
Activités
Research:
- Carry out independent research on the chosen subject,
- Design, carry out and interpret experiments,
- Present the results to the scientific community inside and outside the Institut Curie,
- Write and publish articles,
- Take part in conferences
Cross-disciplinary tasks:
- Take part in the day-to-day life of the laboratory and the SHAPINCELLFATE project, with the project's scientific partners : the teams of Dr Ana-Maria Lennon Duménil, Dr Raphael Voituriez and Dr Giorgio Scita
- Participate in scientific exchanges, practical organisation and the sharing of knowledge and technical expertise with the other members of the laboratory and the project's collaborators - Regularly update your knowledge of the project by reading the relevant literature and attending seminars and conferences.
Compétences
- General knowledge of cell biology and microscopy - Ability to acquire new technical skills specific to research projects
- Ability to acquire new technical skills specific to research projects
- Ability to manage and archive the data produced in accordance with the laboratory's rules and tools
- Fluency in scientific English at B2 level (written and spoken)
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks
- Ability to follow ethical research practices, including in work-related interactions with colleagues.
