Job Description
Missions
Working alongside the scientific coordinator, the EPM will assist in coordinating the project in collaboration with the administrative departments of the CNRS's Ile-de-France Sud Regional Delegation and the relevant departments of the laboratory. His/her mission will be to co-lead the consortium and facilitate its overall operations in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement and consortium agreements. These duties will thus encompass a range of tasks related to the organizational, administrative, financial, and legal management of the project. 30% of the EPM's time will be dedicated to communication activities planned within the framework of the project.
Activity
Project coordination and communication
- Develop and update the management tools necessary for project management (guides, procedures, document templates, collaborative workspace, etc.);
- Oversee project implementation and monitor project deadlines;
- Prepare, disseminate, and support transnational calls for access to services provided by the project, in collaboration with the relevant partners.
- Serve as the liaison between the European Commission (Research Executive Agency) and the consortium on administrative aspects;
- Coordinate communication activities led by other project partners;
- Implement internal communication activities (mailing lists, collaborative workspaces, etc.) and external communication initiatives (website updates, social media management, drafting press releases and articles targeting various communities, etc.), in collaboration with the communications departments of the project partners
- Organize project events (general meetings, workshops, training sessions, webinars) with the relevant partners.
- Organize consortium meetings and draft the minutes
Administrative and financial management
- Assist IPSL partners and researchers involved in the project with administrative and financial matters;
- Ensure compliance with the Horizon Europe's administrative rules and procedures applicable to research infrastructure projects;
- Monitor contractual deadlines: coordinate the production of deliverables and participate in drafting management reports and, where applicable, activity reports;
- Monitor expenditures in collaboration with the Finance and Accounting Department (allocation and transfer of funds, updating and monitoring of budgets, internal financial summary reports, explanation of financial rules, etc.);
- Coordinate the preparation, consolidation, and submission of financial reports in collaboration with the Partnership and Valorization Department, in accordance with the deadlines specified by the European Commission;
- Ensure that all supporting documentation is properly prepared and retained by each partner in anticipation of potential audits.
Legal Oversight
- Ensure compliance with the obligations set forth in grant agreements and consortium agreements;
- Monitor and update contractual documents (amendments) in collaboration with the Partnership and Valorization Department.
Your Profil
Skills
Degree: Master's degree (5 years of higher education), with training in European project management and research administration
Knowledge of the Horizon Europe program rules, particularly those applicable to research infrastructure projects
Knowledge of project management and proficiency in office software
Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is essential
Ability to work in a team and in a multicultural environment
Ability to synthesise and explain European administrative rules and procedures in adapted simple terms.
Proficiency in communication tools (website, social media, press releases, etc.) is a plus
Experience in managing European/international projects is a plus.
Knowledge of the European institutional environment and the national and European research landscape is desired
Knowledge of intellectual property and an interest in information science would be an asset.
Mobility: Frequent travel, including internationally, is to be expected.
Your Work Environment
The CNRS is hiring a full-time European Project Manager (EPM) to oversee the implementation and monitoring of a collaborative research infrastructure project (INFRASERV) funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program.
The “ENES-RISe” (ENES-RI Services) project , which focuses on climate modelling, brings together a consortium of 22 European partners. It is coordinated by Dr. Pascale Braconnot, a research director at the Laboratory of Climate and Environmental Sciences (LSCE)—a member laboratory of the Institut Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL) research federation.
