Missions
Mechanical release of III-nitride devices via hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) is a promising strategy for heterogeneous integration. To adapt this technology to industrial applications, efficient transfer methods are needed that preserve device performance and enable the integration of selected devices. Such advances are particularly relevant to emerging applications, including optogenetic LEDs, microdisplays and wearable optoelectronic devices.
Activities
The research engineer IE will play a central role in the analytical work required to achieve the project's objectives. Specific tasks will include - Design and execution of experiments: Develop and implement DoE strategies for the epitaxial growth of nitride III on h-BN substrates. - Data analysis and optimization: Apply RSM to analyze experimental data, identify process trends and optimize growth parameters. - Database integration: Integrate characterization results into a figure-of-merit (FOM) database; ensure data is formatted for future use in AI/ML models. - Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including materials scientists, device engineers and data scientists. - Reporting and dissemination: Prepare technical reports, contribute to scientific publications and present results at internal and external meetings.
