Job Description
Thesis Subject
This thesis encompasses optoelectronic simulations, MBE growth processes and cleanroom processes, as well as the structural, optical and electrical characterisation of materials and devices, with the following objectives: (1) Optimisation of the MBE growth process and understanding of growth dynamics using in situ monitoring measurements, (2) Cleanroom fabrication processes, including the constraints associated with silicon growth and the RF characterisation conditions to be observed, (3) Performance evaluations of materials and devices, and a feedback loop between characterisation results and growth conditions. Activities: - Literature review and monitoring of the field - Component design - Material epitaxy, data measurement and analysis - Component fabrication and characterisation - Drafting of technical reports - Participation in working meetings
Your Work Environment
The assignment will take place at the LAAS-CNRS premises in Toulouse. The post falls within a sector subject to the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore, in accordance with the regulations, requires your appointment to be authorised by the relevant authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).
Constraints and risks
The work will be carried out as part of the LAAS characterisation platform (optics section) and will require training in laser safety.
