Your Work Environment
The Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (ICSN) is a CNRS Research Unit developing research activities at the boundary between chemistry and biology. It is part of Université Paris-Saclay that brings together higher education and research institutions in the southern Paris region. The ICSN is located on the Gif-sur-Yvette CNRS Campus and comprises approximately 125 staff members across three buildings.
Within the department of Chemical Biology, the PhD student will join the 'Oxidative Stress, Iron-Sulphur Proteins, and Cancer' research group, which consists of one research engineer, five researchers and one fixed-term postdoc. The PhD student will be under the line management of the team leader.
Our research group at the ICSN fexplores the broad field of redox biology with a focus iron-sulphur proteins, redox signaling, and the regulation of the production of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species in both physiological and pathological contexts. We use molecular and cellular approaches as well as various model organisms to investigate these processes.
