Job Description

Thesis Subject

The objective of this PhD project is to develop experimental approaches and theoretical models to better understand the synergy between the physical properties of liquid foams and the biochemical properties of enzymes. The PhD candidate will develop experimental methods to characterize the properties of enzyme-containing liquid foams, as well as theoretical models to describe and interpret the experimental observations. This PhD project is part of a broader interdisciplinary research programme at the interface between soft matter physics and biochemistry.

Your Work Environment

This PhD project is part of a large-scale interdisciplinary research programme at the interface between soft matter physics, physical chemistry, and biochemistry. The project brings together several academic partners based in Strasbourg, Paris, and Le Mans. The successful candidate will be hosted at the Institut Charles Sadron (ICS) in Strasbourg within the MIM (Mechanics of Interfaces and Multiphase Systems) and TSP (Theory and Simulation of Polymers) research groups. They will benefit from regular interactions with the institute's other research groups (PECMAT and M3), as well as with its technological platforms (InCa, MINAMEC, PLAMICS, and CARMAC). Frequent exchanges with partner laboratories throughout the PhD will provide a particularly rich and highly interdisciplinary research environment.
