Description du sujet de thèse
Collective cell migration plays a key role in morphogenesis, tissue regeneration, and cancer. It relies on the exchange of signals that allow cells to coordinate their speed and direction. This project aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that regulate the propagation of these signals through the cytoskeleton, adherens junctions between cells, and focal adhesions to the extracellular matrix. To achieve this, an in vitro system composed of purified proteins will be developed to reconstitute the transmission of mechanical and biochemical signals within a cell cohort. The mechanisms identified in this system will then be validated in a model of collective cell migration.
Contexte de travail
The PhD will be carried out at the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC), specifically within the Cytoskeleton Dynamics and Motility team of the Cell Biology Department. The I2BC is a joint research unit affiliated with Université Paris-Saclay, the CEA, and the CNRS. The PhD student will be awarded a doctoral degree from Université Paris-Saclay.
