Job Description
Thesis Subject
The goal of the proposed project is to unravel new mechanisms of ovarian regulation in mammals involving the ovarian epithelium during development, ageing and upon endocrine perturbation. Ovaries regulate the production of hormones and oocytes released at ovulation. The ovarian surface epithelium (OSE) plays a central role in homeostasis by repairing ovulation-induced wounds. At the molecular level, frequent exposure to acute or chronic tissue damage in epithelial tissues has recently been shown to activate plasticity mechanisms, with a deep impact on the cells' epigenome. How OSE responds to ovulation insults at the cellular and molecular level has remained unexplored, including how that changes over lifetime contribute to ovarian epithelial tumours.
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out within Roberta Ragazzini's team at the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH). The IGH is a leading life sciences research institute located in Montpellier, in the south of France. It offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities within a top-tier international environment.
