Description du sujet de thèse

During meiotic recombination, an essential regulation of fertility allows the choice of interacting with the homologous chromosome rather than the sister chromatid. In this project, we will study the regulatory mechanism of the recombinases (RAD51 and DMC1) that enables this control, using mouse molecular genetics and microscopy combined with the study of the proteins involved. The meiotic recombination intermediates generated in vivo will also be analyzed thanks to an innovative detection method.

Contexte de travail

The thesis will be carried out within the “Meiosis and Recombination” team at the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH) in Montpellier, under the supervision of Frédéric Baudat (DR2, CNRS). The IGH is located on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus near the Faculty of Medicine. The Meiosis and Recombination team is a multinational team (France, Switzerland, Italy, India) composed of three researchers, two engineers, one PhD student, and several master students. The working language is English. The candidate will have access to all of the team's equipment, the IGH's shared equipment, and the Biocampus platforms.
