Job Description
Thesis Subject
The creation of large-scale, controlled self-assemblies is crucial in nanoengineering, whether for developing photonic materials or designing drug delivery systems. However, the dominant strategy today—the assembly of polyhedra—requires precise control over the shape of the building blocks. To overcome this challenge, we are developing an approach focused on the interaction energies between these units, which paves the way for applications in DNA nanotechnology. By theoretically studying the emergence of topological defects in such self-assemblies using a mean-field approach, we aim to design experimentally feasible building blocks that assemble into large-scale, well-controlled structures.
