Job Description
Thesis Subject
Cycloadditions are key reactions for the construction of complex molecular structures. 2-Pyrones are good partners for [4+2] cycloadditions, specifically for reverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder cycloadditions. We have recently developed a enantioselective reverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder method between a 2-pyrone and an acyclic enol ether.
Your Work Environment
The doctoral student will work closely with their thesis advisor (Dr. Aurélien DE LA TORRE) in the MSCO axis at ICMMO, as well as with the entire team on a daily basis. He or she will regularly present their work at group meetings.
All the equipment necessary for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of molecules is available at the Institute of Molecular Chemistry and Materials in Orsay.
The candidate must hold a Master's degree in organic chemistry (or equivalent) and be motivated to contribute to an organic synthesis project. A solid command of classical organic synthesis techniques and analytical methods is required. The candidate must be organized, self-reliant, possess strong communication skills, and be a team player.
