Job Description

Thesis Subject

The industrial process for recycling spent nuclear fuel involves several key mechanical and physicochemical stages. The industrial management of each step of the process relies on multivariate data and measurements. The industrial challenge is to better distinguish normal, transient, degraded, or precursor-to-failure states in order to improve operational support, process robustness, and the use of production history. The goal of this dissertation is to develop a methodology for topological data analysis, based on persistent homology, topological signatures of multivariate time series, and Mapper-type graphs, to identify, represent, and interpret the operating regimes of a process.

Your Work Environment

The research work will be carried out at the Painlevé laboratory (UMR CNRS 8524) in partnership with Orano. It will draw on the complementary skills of the 'Arithmétique et géométrie algébrique' and 'Probabilités, statistique' teams. The position falls within a sector related to the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore, in accordance with regulations, your start must be approved by the competent authority of the MESR.
