Job Description
Thesis Subject
PhD topic
This PhD project aims to develop a theoretical and numerical understanding of fluid transport under nanoconfinement, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms governing liquid–solid interfacial dynamics. Using molecular dynamics simulations combined with theoretical modeling, the project will investigate how confinement, surface properties, and interfacial fluctuations influence transport phenomena such as flow, heat transfer, and coupled responses. The objective is to identify generic principles that can be leveraged for energy conversion and dissipation control in nanofluidic systems.
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out in the Micromegas team at the Laboratoire de Physique de l'ENS, within a research environment specialized in soft matter, statistical physics, and fluid dynamics. The project will rely primarily on large-scale molecular dynamics simulations and theoretical analysis, with access to high-performance computing facilities. The candidate will interact with researchers working on nanofluidics, interfacial phenomena, and transport processes, and may collaborate with experimentalist to connect simulations with measurable observables.
