Job Description

Thesis Subject

Ageing has a profound impact on the adaptive immune system, particularly on the diversity and function of the B cell repertoire. This PhD project aims to develop new computational approaches and mathematical models to understand how B cell populations change across the lifespan and how these changes influence immune function.

The project will combine data analysis with method development, integrating statistical inference, machine learning and population genetics. The expected outcomes include new computational tools for studying B cell evolution, insights into age dependent immune diversity and the identification of microbial species that coevolve with the host immune system. These findings will support models of immune dynamics that can predict age related immune responses.

Your Work Environment

The student will work in the group of T. Mora and A. Walczak that works on various questions of theoretical biophysics, as well as in the broader biophysics groups at LPENS and at the ENS bio institute. Le projet fait une partie d'un projet l'ITN EvoMG.
