Thesis Subject

The development of new antibacterial treatments, a major public health challenge, requires the implementation of innovative new therapeutic strategies. As part of an 80PRIME CNRS project, the LSO laboratory (UMR 7652), in collaboration with biologists (LOB, UMR 7645), is recruiting a Ph.D. student to develop the synthesis of several chemical series using a SAR approach aimed at identifying drug candidates against tuberculosis

Your Work Environment

The development of new antibacterial treatments, a major public health challenge, requires the implementation of innovative new therapeutic strategies. As part of an 80PRIME CNRS project, the LSO laboratory (UMR 7652), in collaboration with biologists (LOB, UMR 7645), is recruiting a Ph.D. student to develop the synthesis of several chemical series using a SAR approach aimed at identifying drug candidates against tuberculosis.

Constraints and risks

The selected candidate will be responsible for synthesizing and characterizing various series of molecules. To this end, he(she) will employ catalytic methodologies, purify the molecules (using silica gel chromatography, HPLC, etc.), and characterize them using mass spectrometry and NMR. He (she) will work in a multidisciplinary environment at the intersection of organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology. The selected candidate must hold a Master's degree in chemistry with solid experience in organic synthesis. Skills in catalysis are a plus. The candidate must demonstrate a strong motivation for research, curiosity, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
