Job Description

Thesis Subject

The thesis aims to control the generation of entangled photon pairs in disordered non-linear media (polycrystals, fibers) using wavefront shaping on the pump beam. These adaptive quantum sources will then be integrated into a sensor to perform ultra-low flux imaging and spectroscopy measurements on biological and chemical samples.

Your Work Environment

The work will be carried out at the Institut des NanoSciences de Paris (INSP) within the "Quantum Imaging Paris" team. This PhD is part of the European DISQO project funded by QuantERA, which involves strong interactions with an interdisciplinary and international consortium based in the UK, Germany, Czechia, and the Netherlands.

Constraints and risks

Short-term travel within Europe is expected in order to collaborate with consortium partners. The main technical risks associated with the project concern the difficulty of integrating the new photon sources with the laboratory's pump lasers, as well as a potentially low photon flux in the final demonstrator.
