Description du sujet de thèse
The “transcription specificity” laboratory is located at the Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging in Nice (IRCAN). The team studies the molecular mechanisms of gene regulation, focusing on the activities of transcription factors and chromatin at the level of genomic cis-regulatory elements. A particular interest of the team is to understand the interplay between gene regulatory processes and genomic elements such as enhancers and silencers. This is the subject of the current doctoral position.
Contexte de travail
IRCAN was created on January 1, 2012 at the heart of the Pasteur University-Hospital Center in Nice. The research carried out at IRCAN aims to understand the biological mechanisms linking aging and cancer, with particular attention paid to the role played by epigenetics, the cellular microenvironment and responses to stress.
The Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging (IRCAN) is a joint research unit under the supervision of the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, CNRS and Inserm.
IRCAN is made up of more than 210 researchers, technical engineers, post-doctoral students and students. It is made up of 15 research teams and 5 technological platforms.
Contraintes et risques
The project involves use of retroviral and lentiviral vectors.
